Tim Brown
Tim Brown has been a mainstay on the New England music scene for over twenty years. He has been a member of J.B. and The Activators, Ryan Hartt and The Bluehearts and is a founding member of Night Train. His relentless shuffle has been employed by a number of notable acts including James Harman, Racky Thomas, Troy Gonyea, Dave Maxwell, Eric Ducoff and Hash Brown among others. He is also featured on The Red Devils and The Wicked Lo-Down guitarist Paul Size’ debut solo album, Can’t Lose Playing The Blues on Feffrey Records.
Tim’s playing has been described as solid and wildly inventive at the same time. He has honed his craft through the study and incorporation of the history of blues drummers from Fred Below to Richard Innes to Per Hanson. He takes that stylistic lineage and creates a sound that is at once familiar while being fresh and modern sounding. His playing on Night Train’s new record The Sack stands out as some of the finest rhythmic interplay and ensemble feel that can be heard anywhere.
